Annual leave

Full-time and part-time employees in New South Wales are entitled to a minimum of four weeks of paid leave each year (pro-rata for part-time workers).

This includes all employees, whether they are paid a salary, wages, piecework rates or are paid wholly or partly by commission.

Remember, if you are a casual, you should receive an additional payment of 1/12th the hourly rate each hour for holiday pay, instead of getting actual paid leave.

Check your award or agreement for details.

Leave loading

Some employees are entitled to be paid a leave loading, which is a pay bonus when you are on annual leave. It only applies to some awards and agreements.
