OIR Advisory Service

The OIR Advisory Service assists NSW employers and employees understand their rights and responsibilities in the workplace, by providing detailed information on current NSW awards and legislation.

 

The service includes:

  • a 131 628 hotline which provides information on current award entitlements and legislation
  • statewide Workshops, assisting employers and employees understand their employment and industrial responsibilities under NSW law.

Awards Online

 

NSW Awards Online is a web service provided by the Office of Industrial Relations to help employers and employees find answers to industrial award enquiries. The service is quick, easy and free.

 

The OIR website contains all major NSW private industry awards, including details of pay rates, award conditions and leave entitlements.

 

To find the relevant award, just enter a job or workplace description or search through an alphabetical list of awards. Those who are familiar with awards can also used the advanced search function to quickly access information.

 

Pay Rate Updates and award information by e-mail

 

Receive the latest information on changes to NSW pay rates, award conditions and leave entitlements by e-mail. Subscribers can select an award, change award choices or unsubscribe at any time. Pay Rate Updates is a quick, free and easy way to stay informed of award changes.

Check Your Pay

 

Check Your Pay is an online service that helps employers and employees to calculate wages and other entitlements.

 

Check Your Pay enables users to calculate the minimum pay rate applying to the work described, check pay against hours worked and include allowances, penalties and loadings for a specific pay period. Users can also calculate long service leave and annual leave entitlements.

 

Workshops on employment issues and awards

 

The OIR offers practical seminars and workshops to help businesses manage a wide range of employment issues in the workplace.

 

Workshops included in the small business solutions workshop series include:

  • IR in NSW - Rights and Responsibilities – the do's and don't's
  • Recruitment and Retention – attract and retain the best employees
  • Workplace Policies – write your rules
  • Managing Employees – problem free workplaces

The OIR also offers a series of free workshops on understanding and using industry specific awards.
