Superannuation entitlements

The superannuation guarantee ensures that most Australian workers receive superannuation support from their employers.

If you are an eligible employee for superannuation purposes, your employer should contribute to a complying superannuation fund or a retirement savings account for you or else pay the superannuation guarantee charge.

These superannuation contributions must be at least 9% of your earnings base for 2002-03 and subsequent years (this is your minimum superannuation entitlement whether you work under an award or not).

For further information about your superannuation entitlements, see Superannuation-for employees on the Tax Office website.
