What are the laws that cover workers in NSW?The Industrial Relations Act 1996 is the principal legislation that covers workers in NSW. This Act enables awards and enterprise agreements to be made and sets out the obligations of employers including the requirements to keep time and wage records, issue pay slips and display awards and enterprise agreements. This Act also allows the OIR to take action for a breach of an award or enterprise agreement and allows the OIR or an employee to recover unpaid entitlements. The other Acts that cover NSW workers include: The Annual Holidays Act 1944 and the Long Service Leave Act 1955.
