The key features of the decision are set out as follows:

• Award wages may be increased by 4%.
  
  
• Work related allowances may be increased by 4%.
  
  
• Junior rates expressed as monetary amounts may be increased by 4%.
  
  
• These increases will only apply where a party to an award makes application to the Commission to have the award varied in accordance with the SWC 2008 decision.
  
  
• The effective date of the SWC 2008 increases for each award will be the date determined by the Commission.
  
  
• Generally, the increases will not be granted for an award any earlier than 12 months after the effective date of an increase applied under the SWC 2007.
  
  
• The Award Review Classification Rate is increased by $21.30 from $531.40 to $552.70.
