Annual leave
Full-time and part-time employees in New South Wales are entitled to a minimum of four weeks of paid leave each year. This includes all employees, whether they are paid a salary, wages, piecework rates or are paid wholly or partly by commission.
If you are a casual, you receive a higher hourly rate because you do not get paid annual leave.
Leave loading
Workers who receive their rights under an award or agreement receive an extra payment of 17.5% of their wages when they go on a period of annual leave. This is called leave loading.
