State Wage Case 2009
The Full Bench of the Industrial Relations Commission handed down its State Wage Case 2009 decision on 30 July 2009.
The key features of the decision for award employees are set out as follows:

Award wages may be increased by 2.8%.

Work related allowances may be increased by 2.8%.
Junior rates expressed as monetary amounts may be increased by 2.8%. -
These increases will only apply where a party to an award makes application to the Commission to have the award varied in accordance with the SWC 2009 decision.

The effective date of the SWC 2009 increases for each award will be the date determined by the Commission.

The increases will not be granted for an award any earlier than 12 months after the effective date of an increase applied under the SWC 2008.

The Award Review Classification Rate has now been increased by $15.50 from $552.70 to $568.20.
